Home Remedies For Tan
Turmeric is an age old remedy being used by women to get that extra glow on their face. Turmeric helps to remove tan. You need to make a paste of turmeric powder in raw milk and half a teaspoon of lemon juice. Use this as a face pack. Lie flat on your back and apply this paste evenly on your face. Let it dry which may take twenty minutes to half an hour. Thereafter, wash it with fresh water.
Mix oats and butter milk to make a coarse paste. Apply this paste on the tanned parts of the body. Let it be there for about 15-20 minutes. Wash it after the prescribed period. Gradually old-tanned skin will give way to new tan- free skin.
Oats exfoliate the skin which allows the new skin to come to the surface. Butter milk is widely known for its soothing action on the skin.
Snap a piece of Aloe Vera leaf from your garden, if you have one there; otherwise hunt for it in the market. Aloe Vera works exceedingly well to remove tan from your skin. You can cut the aloe vera leaf and scoop out the transparent gel.
It can be ground into a fine paste and stored in the refrigerator for 3 to four days. Apply aloe vera gel everyday till you get your original complexion back. It is likely to take a week to show results.
Take a tablespoon of sugar and an equal amount of lemon juice, mix them well. Apply this liquid on your face and leave it till it gets dries. It may take 15 to 20 minutes. Now it will feel like a crust, as it dries up. Slowly and gently scrub it off. Repeat it everyday for a week or so. You will see the tan going away.
Raw milk is an excellent cleanser, it is this property of milk which works wonders on the skin. In ancient times ordinary folks as well as queens are known to have used milk as a beauty aid. Add dried orange peel for an enhanced effect. Make a pate of orange peel in milk and apply it on the tanned area. Make a smooth paste, as an alternative you can use lemon peel instead of orange peel.
Wheat Germ Oil
Wheat germ oil can be massaged on the tanned skin. You can dilute it with some raw milk and rub it on skin. Wheat germ oil contains vitamin E which is an excellent source for a healthy skin. Gently massage the affected body parts for about 15 minutes to treat tanned skin.
Lemon juice can be mixed with a few other healing ingredients in your kitchen. It contains citric acid and vitamin C. Both these work towards lightening the skin tone.
Remember to use fresh lemons and not the lemon concentrate available in your supermarket. Honey and lemon juice mix makes a great remedy for tan. Another combination that treats tan is lemon juice, rose water and fresh cucumber juice. Cucumber and rose water can cool and sooth the skin. Apply these mixtures for about half an hour and then wash.
Almonds, milk and milk cream along with a few drops of lemon juice can work wonders for you tanned skin. Grind a few almonds into a fine powder, mix the mentioned ingredients. Almonds will nourish your skin as well as exfoliate it. Milk cream will act as a moisturizer and lemon juice will make the complexion light.
Lifestyle Modifications For Tan
Staying away from the source of tan can give you the best protection. Avoid going out in the sun when it is shining bright. Mornings and evenings do not cause tan. If you cannot stay indoors, keep most of your body covered. It is better to protect yourself with a hat, sunglasses and umbrella.
There is another way of saving yourself from tan without compromising on staying outdoors. Use a sunscreen lotion on all the parts of the body which are exposed to sun. You need to know clearly that any sunscreen lotion is not going to help, you will have to buy a specific one. Ask for the sunscreen with SPF value of not less than 15. It will block the UV rays completely. Read the instructions before using the product, these products are to be reapplied after a few hours.
