But people allergic to banana, peaches, lemon and latex should avoid using avocado oil.
Not a well known herb, coleus forskohlii is specifically used in the treatment of psoriasis and its associated symptoms. The herb is available in tincture form and 1ml of the tincture should be used three times daily to help cure the condition. Medical studies have not revealed any side effects of the herb so far.
Gotu Kola is native of Asia and South Africa and its leaves and stems are highly medicinal in nature. The extracts from the leaves and stems is used for preparing creams, gels and ointments specifically meant for psoriasis. The herb contains active compounds that help strengthen the skin tissues and by improving circulation of blood in the affected areas. It is best to use gotu kola externally because its consumption can cause toxicity in the body. The herb is not for pregnant women as it can lead to miscarriage.
The oregano grape plant has bark and roots that are known for their medicinal properties and are popularly used as ingredients in ointments meant for psoriasis. Herbal preparations of oregano grape plant are available in herbal stores and these are to be applied topically over the affected areas of the skin. However, they have mild side effects such as rash and burning sensation but these disappear with repeated use.
Red clover is easily recognizable thanks to the beautiful red color of its flowers. The flowers of the herb are used in preparation of ointments, liquid extracts, creams as well as infusions that are for treating psoriasis. The flowers are first dried and then used in the various preparations. The herbal preparations of red clover are absolutely safe for use but should be discontinued if irritation develops or rashes appear on the skin.
